Voting

Today’s crying moment…voting ballots.

Michaela was a big political junkie. She helped empower me to figure out what was best for the world and myself. She was one of the smartest people I knew so had great insight.

She explained things in analogies. They were always amazingly spot on. Helped me understand complex ideas in simple examples. I miss her wisdom so tears came when I was filling out the ballot. Tears and more tears.

How can it be that she won’t be able to vote in this important election? Being transgender and part of the LGBTQ community it means a vote for Trump is a vote against our rights. Which says we don’t “deserve” those rights by people who vote for Trump. It is deeply hurtful to know people I love don’t see me as a whole person.
