Caring Bridge - December 2019

Caring Bridge Journal Entry by Darby — December 24, 2019

Pasted from my Facebook. I know most of you have seen M’s post. I thought I should post also though. After months of being sick and having a significant amount of tests, we found out Michael has Stage 4 cancer on the liver and spleen that came from the kidney cancer he had 2 years ago. The kidneys are fine, it most likely had microscopic pieces from the growth scrape off when removed that found their way to the liver and spleen. The first treatment for the cancer was Thursday. M is doing immunotherapy infusions and a chemo based pill. First infusion is already doing work. It is rough, but we are hopeful this will stop it from spreading.

I have received texts, private messages, and phone calls. Most do not have any replies and those that do are short. I apologize for not being able to give a thoughtful reply as I cherish each and everyone of you for your kind offers, loving words of support. I know M and I won’t make it through this without all of you. I also know you understand that I am overwhelmed by emotions and concern for my love, M.

We are blessed beyond words to have such an amazing circle. You all are such compassionate, kind, generous people. Again so blessed. I know you want to help. I have a good friend that will be helping coordinate when we could use meals. I know many have offered to run errands, do tasks for our business or around the house, just help in anyway we need and we will definitely be asking as we know can’t do this without you. Thank you for all your prayers, energy, love and support. We send love to you all! I hope each of you take the time to cherish these special moments with your loved ones this Christmas. Laugh hard and love even more.
