Caring Bridge - December 2019

Caring Bridge Journal Entry by Michael — December 19, 2019

We held our breath as the results were being discussed. Soon after that breath became a moment of loss. Shocked set in as we heard words no one really wants to hear. “Stage 4” “kidney cancer spread” “spleen and liver” only to be followed by a virtual whirlwind of a treatment plan, words that are so long that it seems impossible anyone would know what it actually was. We were overwhelmed.

Then facing the reality: I have stage 4 cancer of the kidney that has spread to the liver and spleen. Then a dry gulp in the throat happens. Then silence; leftover from the shock. Then another dry gulp.

Okay.

Well.

Right.

So this next chapter begins.

I can’t thank everyone enough for their love ❤️ kindness & prayers and help. I truly am blessed and at a loss of how to simply say “thank you” as this chapter unfolds before us. You’re all amazing and loved ❤️💕❤️💕❤️
