Facebook Memories

Every morning, I look at FB memories to see if we tagged each other in a post. It makes me cry most days, but I am hanging on to our memories. Today’s FB memories are all about our anniversary. Reading our messages to each other means there has been tears. Today would have been 18 years together. Our anniversaries were always so good. Last year Michaela was too sick to go out, but we still made it ours at home. Played a game and watched movies snuggled up on the couch. It is so hard to accept that we aren’t celebrating another anniversary together.

17 years has passed for us. It doesn’t seem possible but our love continues to grow outward and to new depths. Having spent the last 13 of those years working from home would test most relationships being in that 24/7 mode. For us, it just made sense to enjoy each other’s company even if I was working in another room of the house.

That’s the beauty of souls that can travel through the miles of life and who can roll with the changes we have faced. Through our attitude, our dedication and love - we keep striving forward.

And that’s what long lasting love does for you. Thankful for what you have, never take that for granted and feel blessed each moment you can. I am extremely blessed to have Darby
