In Her Bag

The image below was posted today on Facebook by Spoken Grief . In June, I switched to the last purse Michaela used. Her wallet was out because at the end that stayed in my purse for all our doctor appointments. However, there were still things in her bag - hearing aid batteries, 2 pens one with pink ink, her business cards, lip tint chapstick, an eyeglass cleaning cloth, and a roll of breath mints. I kept it all in there and added my stuff to it. I am glad it has pieces of her in it that go with me everywhere. I know pieces of her are inside me eternally, but physical pieces that say she occupied this space some days helps me in ways and other days it sends me into messy ugly tears. The day I decided to use her purse was some of both.
