September 8

I love Facebook memories and at the same time they hold so many tears almost always good, but still difficult at times. September 8 always brings up multiple memories. Slideshow of some images associated with these memories at the end of the post.

First…

10 years ago my love brought me to Rocky Mountain National Park. At that time, we had passed through, but never stopped and made it a sightseeing day. I had been to the park in my past before Michaela and wanted to create memories with her in this special place. It was a beautiful day full of laughter, joy, and love.

Second…

7 years ago I spent several days sightseeing in Denver with my parents who came through to see me. We went to the botanical gardens so I posted tons of photos. Michaela had to stay in Grand Junction for work so she wasn’t with, but I later found out that she also had been deciding how to tell that she was transgender. When I see the photographs of the botanical garden I think about that. Beauty all around me blooming and soon I would get to see my love bloom in ways that she was meant to all of her life.

Third…

6 years ago Michaela and I had a meeting downtown, but got there early just to window shop. She got so excited when she remembered there was a shop new to Main Street, but not Grand Junction. I had never been in it though. The store was Board Fox Games. I will post at some point why this was so significant, but for a little explanation, our lives changed in such a fantastic way by going in there because we became obsessed with board games. That moment changed our lives in such meaningful positive ways.

September 8th is a good day of memories. Powerful, intense, beautiful, and full of love through the years.
